SUNDAY: TAORMINA AREA
- Arrival at Catania airport. After collecting your luggage, optional group transfer to the hotel. There are no scheduled activities on this day. Information about the program will be available at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
MONDAY: ETNA
- Breakfast at the hotel and departure with the guide to Mount Etna, the highest peak in Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The area surrounding the volcano forms the "Etna Park," one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be amazed by the great variety of vegetation and landscapes encountered along the route before reaching the "Silvestri Craters" (about 1,900 meters). From here, you will have the optional excursion by jeep and cable car (extra cost). After tasting some local Sicilian specialties, return to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
- TAORMINA (OPTIONAL): On foot, you will discover the fascinating city of Taormina, listening to stories about the history and evolution of Sicilian culture. You will pass by splendid ancient buildings, including the 15th-century Corvaja Palace and an ancient Greco-Roman theater, the second largest classical theater in Sicily (TICKET not included). You will explore the medieval area of the city with its narrow streets and old shops. Dinner and overnight stay.
TUESDAY: SYRACUSE
- Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites on the island with its Archaeological Park (extra cost), the Roman Amphitheater, the Greek Theater, the Ear of Dionysius, the Cordari Cave, Ortigia Island, the oldest part of the city with its splendid cathedral. Return to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
WEDNESDAY: THE GODFATHER TOUR & TAORMINA COAST TO COAST BY BOAT
- Breakfast at the hotel. This day is free to relax and explore the city, swim at the beach, or participate in an optional boat excursion “TAORMINA COAST TO COAST BY BOAT” (*). In this tour, you will discover the natural beauty of the Giardini/Naxos – Taormina coast. The meeting point will be at the Giardini Naxos port, and transfer rates to the hotel can be requested for an additional fee. You will start the tour aboard a comfortable characteristic boat (max. 12 people) to explore the Ionian coast. From here, you will have a fantastic view of Mount Etna and its most spectacular panoramas. During the route, you can discover caves, including a visit to the famous “Blue Grotto” (subject to weather and currents), rock formations, and the splendid Isola Bella Nature Reserve.
- In the afternoon, EXCURSION to discover one of the most fascinating places with the GODFATHER TOUR: Savoca. In 2008, this art city was included in the circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy. Here, you can visit the fascinating catacombs of the Capuchin Convent, but it was Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 film The Godfather that made it famous worldwide. Several scenes were shot in this town, including the one at Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone enters for a drink and asks for Apollonia’s hand in marriage. The bar is still decorated with objects from Coppola’s film, while the wedding scenes between Michael and Apollonia were filmed in the Church of San Nicolò. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
THURSDAY: THE TOUR ENDS AFTER BREAKFAST
- Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out at 10:00. Group transfer to Catania airport or possibility to extend your stay at the hotel. End of our services. Thank you and goodbye.
