Itinerary

SUNDAY: ARRIVAL

  • Arrival at Catania airport. Optional group transfer to Milazzo; hydrofoil included for Lipari. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay.

MONDAY: VULCANO

  • Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, meet at the port and departure at 09:30 for Vulcano. The day begins with a journey along the western coast of Lipari, with a visit to the Grotta degli Angeli, the Faraglioni, and the beautiful Vinci beach. Our tour begins along the eastern coast from Lipari to the peninsula of Vulcanello and continues to the sea-horse cave, the Grotta del Cavallo, and the Baths of Venus, the Piscina di Venere, a natural pool in the middle of the sea, followed by a swimming break. The next stop is the port of Vulcano. The island is very large and has many things to see. All the places to visit are easily reachable on foot, so everyone can visit the village and have free time to do everything. We will stay on Vulcano for a long time. Not far from the port are the Black Sands (black beach), the thermal mud pool, and the sulfurous waters beach. The village offers a wide choice of traditional restaurants and every kind of shop. In addition, it is possible to climb the large crater of Vulcano. Comfortable closed shoes are recommended. The path is marked by some signs, the ascent time is about 50 minutes and a little less to go down. Return to Lipari. Free afternoon and overnight stay at the hotel.

TUESDAY: PANAREA & STROMBOLI

  • Breakfast at the hotel, meet at the port in the early afternoon and departure for Panarea. Stop at the beautiful Calajunco in wonderful waters. Then departure for a cruise toward the small islands of Dattilo and Lisca Bianca. In Panarea, you will be free to visit the characteristic village. Continuing toward Basiluzzo, the largest of the islets of Panarea, we will reach Stromboli. Sailing along the small village of Ginostra, reachable only by sea, we will take you to Scari, the port of Stromboli. A few steps to the right is the black sand beach of San Vincenzo, which continues to surround almost the entire island. You will have free time to swim again, stroll through the lovely village, visit the craft shops, and eat: the island offers everything. At sunset, circling around the islet of Strombolicchio, heading toward the Sciara del Fuoco, after dropping anchor, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view of Stromboli's eruptions. Return to Lipari, optional transfer to the hotel, and overnight stay.

WEDNESDAY: LIPARI & SALINA

  • Breakfast at the hotel, meet at the port and departure at 10:00. These islands are the largest in the Aeolian archipelago and, thanks to their proximity, the itinerary offers more opportunities for swimming and visiting places rather than sailing. Along the eastern coast of Lipari, we will head toward Monte Rosa, the village of Canneto, and the White Beaches. Our first stop will be the pumice beach with its incredible waters, so turquoise that they rival the best Caribbean beaches. Continuing toward the village of Acquacalda, you will admire from the sea the black obsidian flow that cuts through the white and majestic mountain that, long ago, housed the old pumice mine. We leave Lipari for a moment to head toward Salina where you will visit Santa Marina, the island's largest suburb. Admiring the wonderful coasts, you will be amazed to see the boat enter a splendid bay with a small islet in the center. The abrupt change in depth, the semicircular shape, and the layers of rock suggest that you are inside an ancient partially submerged crater. Ladies and gentlemen, you have arrived at Pollara Bay (our friendly director Massimo Troisi chose this place to set his last and unforgettable masterpiece: "Il Postino"). Our last stop in Salina will be Lingua, a small suburb, where you can visit the natural salt lake, once used for salt extraction (from which the island takes its name). The suburb is full of traditional restaurants and seaside bars. Our crew will be happy to recommend the best places for lunch; in the afternoon we will return to Lipari to complete the itinerary. The western coast is full of strangely shaped rocks and splendid caves in the inlet of Valle Muria, which will be the icing on the cake of a wonderful day at sea. Return at 17:00. Overnight stay at the hotel.

THURSDAY: THE TOUR ENDS AFTER BREAKFAST

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the port of Lipari, hydrofoil included for Milazzo, and optional transfer from the port of Milazzo to Catania airport. End of our services.

  • In Lipari, we will provide you with vouchers for the hotel and excursions; the guide in Lipari will be included if a minimum of 10 people is reached.
  • About 90% of the hotels in Lipari do not have a restaurant; dinner may be served in a restaurant.
  • The program may be subject to changes, or replaced with alternative excursions, or some of them may be canceled due to bad weather or technical reasons; in such cases, no refund is предусмотрed.
  • The hydrofoil transportation for the excursions is shared with other guests.
  • For diving enthusiasts in Lipari, there are 2 diving centers.
  • Due to the enormous demand for the Aeolian Islands, all bookings are on request; we will respond to your booking indicating the name of the hotel. At the time of confirmation, a 30% deposit of the total amount must be paid. Late advance payments will result in the cancellation of the booking.
  • Please note that the last departure from Milazzo to Lipari is at 19:00 — please take this information into account when booking your flight. If you have booked a late-evening flight, please inform us and we will help you book an overnight stay in Milazzo.
  • Rooms must be vacated by 10:00. You may take your luggage with you or leave it free of charge in your hotel’s storage room. On request and for an additional fee, it is possible to keep the room until late afternoon.
  • Tours are guaranteed with a minimum number of 2 passengers.
  • The hotels indicated in the programs may be replaced with others of the same category.
  • It is recommended to book optional excursions at the time of booking.
  • Some trips may be a combination of multiple Norma Vacanze tours. It should be expected that some members of the group may join or leave the tour between stops.
