DAY 1: ROME (KM 50)
Arrival at Rome airport. After picking up the rental car, drive to Rome. There are no planned activities on this day. Free time to explore the city on your own. Overnight stay.
DAY 2: ROME
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city on your own. We suggest visiting the highlights of Rome’s iconic monuments, which is a fascinating sight.
Suggested itinerary: You can visit the Pyramid, the Mouth of Truth, the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, and the Colosseum. Then admire Santa Maria Maggiore, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Venezia, the Quirinal Palace. Walk through the historic city center and visit the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Via Condotti, Via del Corso, Piazza del Popolo, and Villa Borghese. Continue your visit along the Lungotevere, admire the Palace of Justice and Castel Sant'Angelo. Overnight in Rome.
DAY 3: ROME
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you are free to relax and discover the city on your own; in the afternoon you will drive towards the Sorrento area.
Suggested itinerary: Before leaving for Sorrento, we suggest visiting the Vatican Museums, a vast complex of galleries housing some of the most important Italian artworks, paintings, sculptures, tapestries, and classical antiquities. Adjacent to St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums connect buildings and courtyards that host the Picture Gallery, the Egyptian Museum, the Tapestry Gallery, the Pio-Clementino Museum, and the Gallery of Maps. The Crown jewels are kept in the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo’s Last Judgment ceiling, and the 16th-century frescoes in Raphael’s rooms. Continue to Sorrento.

DAY 4: FLORENCE (KM 325)
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you will need to drive to Montecatini. We suggest visiting Florence, one of the most spectacular and great art capitals in the world, home to one-third of all Italy’s artistic treasures.
Suggested itinerary: Dive into Florence and start by visiting Santa Croce, the largest Franciscan church in Italy, considered the burial place of the most important Italian personalities in history, art, and literature. Equally impressive is the Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria with the replica of Michelangelo’s David. A visit to the world-famous Uffizi Gallery is recommended, or stroll through the city streets and end the day with a coffee in Piazza della Repubblica. Drive to Montecatini Terme for the overnight stay.
DAY 5: SIENA & SAN GIMIGNANO (KM 320)
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city on your own or you can choose to spend the day in Siena and San Gimignano.
Suggested itinerary: Head to the Chianti area, which stretches between Siena and Florence, known for producing one of the most famous wines, Chianti. Be enchanted by one of the most magnificent landscapes of hills, fields, numerous vineyards, and olive groves. Discover San Gimignano, whose towering towers can be seen from afar. Must-see are the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, the Palazzo del Popolo with the Civic Museum, and Piazza della Cisterna with its beautiful fountain. Drive to Siena. The medieval city of Siena is a masterpiece of the Gothic period. With its winding historic center and the narrow, reddish-brown streets of tall brick buildings on the clay roads of Siena, it feels as if the clock of centuries has stopped. The historic center on its three hills grouped in the shape of three stars is famous for its Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia (88 meters high). From here you have a splendid view of the famous and beautiful Piazza del Campo. Overnight in Montecatini Terme.
DAY 6: PISA & LUCCA
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city on your own or you can choose to spend the day visiting Pisa and Lucca.
Suggested itinerary: The Leaning Tower of Pisa has made it famous worldwide. During your day trip, you can admire the Piazza dei Miracoli, the unique composition of the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, and the Campo Santo. The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is a masterpiece of Italian architecture. Inside the Baptistery, you can visit the hexagonal pulpit by Nicola Pisano. Something very special in its own way is the cloister-shaped monumental Cemetery. Go to Lucca and visit this beautiful medieval city with the Guinigi Tower and the Clock Tower. From these points, you have a splendid view over the roofs of the Tuscan city, a panorama that allows you to appreciate its beauty and harmony, and to rediscover the same urban structure built by the Romans. Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, named after what was once here, is now one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. The Church of San Michele, also called the Forum, is a place where the center of ancient Lucca was located. Overnight in Montecatini Terme.
DAY 7: LAKE TRASIMENO, PERUGIA & ASSISI
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you will drive back to Rome and you can choose to spend the day visiting Lake Trasimeno, Perugia, and Assisi.
Suggested itinerary: Crossing the Tuscan countryside, the first town you will encounter is Passignano sul Trasimeno, a small medieval village with ancient walls and a beautiful fortress. The town is characterized by a famous tourist location in a magical position offering breathtaking views of the enchanting lake and surrounding islands. After this visit, continue through the picturesque landscape until you reach the hill where the ancient city of Perugia stands. Evidence of its Etruscan origin is preserved in the travertine walls and the comfortable town center. Perugia is one of the most appreciated Italian art cities, with a beautiful square from which you can admire architectural gems such as the superb Palazzo dei Priori and the splendid Cathedral next to the Loggia. The elegant Fontana Maggiore is another breathtaking masterpiece. Drive to Assisi, the picturesque town where Italy’s patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi, lived, worked, and died. The town of Assisi lies at the foot of Mount Subasio. Upon arrival, you should first visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, built to protect the famous church of the "Porziuncola." Here you can also see the "thornless rosebush." Drive to the center of Assisi where you can visit the city’s civil and religious artistic heritage. Admire the splendid Gothic Basilica dedicated to St. Clare, the Renaissance New Church with an elegant dome, and the Roman temple of Minerva which still preserves its first-century AD facade. Discover the 14th-century Monte Frumentario and finally visit the famous and beautiful Basilica of St. Francis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, built with white-pink stone from Mount Subasio. Inside the Basilica are preserved the wonderful fresco cycles by Cimabue, Giotto, Simone Martini, and Lorenzetti. Breathe in the special atmosphere of serenity and joy that this city emanates and you will understand why it was chosen as a symbol of Peace by delegates of the world’s major religions. Continue to Rome and overnight.
