DAY 1: ARRIVAL

• Arrival at Palermo airport. After picking up the rental car, head to Palermo. No activities are planned for this day. Free time to explore the city on your own. Overnight in the Palermo area.

DAY 2: PALERMO, MONREALE & MONDELLO (45 KM)

• Breakfast at the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the city on your own.

• Suggested itinerary. Today you will visit Palermo: start from Teatro Massimo, the third largest opera house in Europe. Then immerse yourself in the popular "Il Capo" market, which resembles an African souk; at the end of the market visit, we recommend tasting the typical Sicilian "arancina" in a bar, a local street food specialty. Continue the visit in the old part of the city with the Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Palatine Chapel. Continue to Monreale, famous for its Cathedral with polychrome mosaics on a golden background depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament. End the visit with the cloister. In the afternoon, enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, a short distance from the center of Palermo. Mondello beach can be reached in 30 minutes from the city center. Mondello was (and still is) a fishing village, which at the beginning of the 20th century was chosen by wealthy Palermitan families as a summer holiday destination. For this reason, you will be able to admire numerous villas built in Liberty style and another interesting Liberty building, the "Stabilimento Balneare", built on stilts over the water, which also hosts one of the best restaurants in Palermo. Mondello beach has a semicircular shape, between two promontories (Monte Pellegrino and Capo Gallo), and the color of the sea will amaze you. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, you may also swim (from May until the end of October). A walk along the palm-lined seafront is a "must". In the main square you will have the opportunity to taste Sicilian street food specialties or ice cream. Return to the center of Palermo. Overnight stay.

DAY 3: CEFALÙ & CASTELBUONO (185 KM)

• Breakfast at the hotel. Today you can swim in the beautiful sandy beach of Cefalù and visit Castelbuono.

• Suggested itinerary: Reach Cefalù where you can start the day by visiting Piazza del Duomo, which extends below the Cathedral with its splendid mosaics and is surrounded by a series of beautiful palaces, stroll along Corso Ruggero, the main street lined with a wide range of boutiques and built on the ancient Roman road of the decumanus, and then visit the old washhouse. You can then head up into the hills to Castelbuono, an enchanting town founded in the 14th century around the castle built by the Ventimiglia family, a massive square-plan structure with square towers, which has undergone many changes over the years. This is also where the heart of the Madonie Regional Park is located. We suggest stopping at a local restaurant to taste special meats and mushrooms. Return to Palermo. Overnight in Palermo.

DAY 4: MARSALA, ERICE & PANTELLERIA (285 KM)

• Breakfast at the hotel. Today you can swim and enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches of San Vito lo Capo and Macari, or visit Marsala and Erice before flying to Pantelleria.

• Suggested itinerary: Continue to Marsala, famous for its salt pans and wine production. Stop at the Stagnone Reserve, a magical place with a striking natural landscape of rare beauty thanks to its white salt pans with windmills. Continue driving to Erice, the medieval town on top of Monte San Giuliano. Here you can admire the Castle of Venus (outside) and the Cathedral. In the meantime, we suggest stopping at a pastry shop to taste Erice's typical almond paste. Reach Palermo airport, return the car and fly to Pantelleria at 17:05; arrival in Pantelleria after 50 minutes - Arrival at the airport. After picking up the rental car, head to the hotel and overnight stay.

DAY 5: WELLNESS AND NATURE IN PANTELLERIA (OPTIONAL)

• Breakfast at the hotel - Relax at the hotel or enjoy thermal wellness, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub.

• Optional excursion: WELLNESS AND NATURE IN PANTELLERIA. The itinerary proposed with this excursion takes the visitor to discover the island's various thermal phenomena through a true natural open-air thermal spa. Treatments with thermal mud and relaxing baths in hot waters are included.

• Pick-up and drop-off of the car at the airport will take place during the rental company's opening hours (every day from 08:00 to 22:30); outside these hours, the rental company will apply an additional charge. Please check before booking your flight.

Admission tickets

• To avoid queues at museums or archaeological parks, it is necessary to book in advance: advance booking of admission tickets is mandatory on the first day of the tour.
• Tickets are non-refundable.

The Platinum insurance includes:

• With Platinum insurance, the deductible amount is not charged. The "Platinum" package removes deductibles for all damage, partial theft, attempted theft, and total theft, including glass, tires, roof damage, and damage to the underside of the vehicle. Internal damage and damage caused by vandalism, riots, etc. are excluded.

• Cancellations up to 15 days before departure with full refund.
• Cancellations from 14 to 8 days before departure, 30% penalty.
