DAY 2: PALERMO, MONREALE & MONDELLO
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the city on your own Palermo
Suggested itinerary: Today you will visit Palermo - You will start with the Teatro Massimo, the third largest opera house in Europe. Then you will enter the popular market "Il Capo", which is reminiscent of an African souk; at the end of the market visit you will taste the typical Sicilian "Arancina" in a bar, a local street food specialty. You will continue the visit in the old part of the city with the Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Palatine Chapel. Continue to Monreale, famous for its Cathedral with polychrome mosaics on a golden background, depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament, and conclude the visit with the cloister. In the afternoon enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, so close to the center of Palermo. You will reach the Mondello beach in 30 minutes from the city center. Mondello was (and still is) a fishing village, which at the beginning of the 20th century was chosen by affluent Palermo families as a place for summer holidays. For this reason, you can admire many villas built in Liberty style, and another interesting Liberty-style building, the "Stabilimento Balneare", built on stilts above the water, which also houses one of Palermo's best restaurants. Mondello beach has a semicircular shape, between two promontories (Monte Pellegrino and Capo Gallo) and the color of the sea will amaze you. Depending on the weather and sea conditions you may also have the opportunity to swim (from May until the end of October). A walk along the palm-lined seafront is a "must". In the main square you will have the opportunity to taste Sicilian street food specialties or an ice cream on your own. Overnight
DAY 3: CEFALÙ & CASTELBUONO
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the city on your own or you can visit Cefalù and Castelbuono
Suggested itinerary: Transfer to Cefalù, where you can start the day by visiting Piazza del Duomo, which stretches beneath the Cathedral with its splendid mosaics and is surrounded by a series of beautiful palaces, pass through Corso Ruggero, the main street, lined with a wide range of boutiques and built above the ancient Roman decumanus road, and then head towards the ancient washhouse. You can then go up into the hills to Castelbuono, an enchanting town formed in the 14th century around the castle built by the Ventimiglia family, a massive square structure with square towers, which over the years has undergone many transformations. Here you will also find the heart of the Madonie Regional Park. We suggest sitting in a local restaurant to taste meat and mushroom specialties. Return to Palermo. Overnight
DAY 4: MARSALA, ERICE & SEGESTA
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the city on your own or you can visit Marsala Stagnone, Erice and Segesta.
