1Saturday: Taormina Area
Arrive at Catania Airport at any time. After having collected your luggage, depart to your hotel in Taormina Area. On this day there are no planned activities, so check into our hotel (the rooms will be ready after 14:00) and enjoy the city. Free time to discover the surrounding of the hotel or to go for a swim on the beach on your own.

2Sunday: Taormina Area
Breakfast in the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city or go for a swim on the beach on your own or opt to join our half day excursion Undiscovered Sicily.
Dinner and Overnight in hotel.
Departure to Castiglione di Sicilia, a small medieval town also known as the “wine city”, where we you can admire Its legendary castle, rich palaces and churches. “Cannizzu” – a lookout tower split in two after being hit by lightning – is really impressive. Santa Domenica’s Church is also worth a visit; it is a rare, valuable example of Byzantine domed building of the seventh century.
Then we discover Francavilla di Sicilia, a stunning town in the Alcantara valley, where a violent battle occurred between the Spaniards and Austrians in the 16th Century. Here we will also visit the Capucin Monastery (entrance fee not included), founded in the 16th Century.
After having tasted some local food and wine, we then head to the Alcantara Gorges (Gole dell’Alcantara). The water in the river is always cool, it attracts hundreds wishing to take a refreshing dip on hot summer days. To get down into the gorge you can either take the stairs or there is an elevator (entrance fee not included) that will whisk you down the 50 meters to the river. The small beach area is great for getting your feet wet, sunbathing, or if you desire to jump in there are areas you can dive in.
Reboard the coach at 15:30 and head back to the hotel.

Castiglione di Sicilia
3Monday: Etna and Taormina
Breakfast in the hotel and departure with the tour escort to the Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the volcano constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “Silvestri Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep and cableway (extra cost).
After having tasted some local Sicilian speciality, departure to Taormina. As you walk and discover the amazing town of Taormina, you will see beautiful old buildings, including the 15thcentury Palazzo Corvaja and an ancient Greek Roman theatre the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily (Admission fee is not included). Discover the medieval area of the town with its narrow strest and old shops.
Dinner and Overnight in hotel.
On request and at extra cost, instead of spending three hours at leisure to trek independently around the foothills of Mount Etna, there is the possibility to get Mount Etna’s summit with cableway, jeep and alpine guide. Ride by cable car to a height of 8,202 feet (2,500 meters), and then travel the remaining distance by 4×4 jeep, stopping at a dizzying 9,843 feet (3,000 meters). Follow your alpine guide (*) carefully around the craters at Mount Etna’s summit, peering intohornitos (small openings that release lava), and learning about volcanic activity in Sicily. At the end of your walk, return to the base station via jeep and cable car to meet the rest of your group.

4Tuesday: Catania and Syracuse – Ferry to Malta
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Catania by Bus for a walking tour through the streets into Catania’s UNESCO-listed historical center with its Baroque palazzi and amazing monuments. Before hopping on the bus, visit of the open-air fish market, famous for its particular colors.
Continuation to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island with its Archeological Park , the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. Tasting of Sicilian speciality. Entrance fees are not included. Transfer to the port of Pozzallo, Boarding on the catamaran to Malta where we arrive after about 2 hours . Transfer to hotel and overnight stay in Malta.
5Wednesday: The three cities
Breakfast at the hotel. We will proceed to the area of Porto Grande, opposite Valletta, known as the Three Cities – Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea, where the Knights of St. John first settled in 1530. Passing Cospicua we will reach Vittoriosa for a walking tour through the narrow streets in the shadow of historic buildings, including the first ordinances in the various languages of the Order. At the promenade of Vittoriosa we will take a typical port boat (dghajsa) for a tour of the colorful inlets of the port. From the Senglea Garden, located at the end of the peninsula, we will enjoy a splendid 360 degree view of the Porto Grande, including the imposing Sant Angelo Fort from where Grand Master La Valette led the island’s defense during the Great Siege of 1565. This afternoon you are free to relax and explore the city or take a swim in the magnificent crystal clear Maltese waters or take part in the optional harbour cruise. In the afternoon you can opt to spend time at your leasure or you can book our optional excursion “Cruise in the harbour”.
Overnight in Malta.
During this boat trip you will discover the beauty of Valletta’s two natural harbors –
Marsamaxett and Grand Harbour – which have played a fundamental role in Malta’s history. Seen from the sea, Valletta appears in all its grandeur, offering photographers the best opportunities for original images. After the cruise you will have time to stroll through the main shopping area of Sliema, where you can also relax in one of the many cafes. Return transfer from Sliema at 18.00.

6Thursday: The other Malta
Breakfast at the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city or take a swim on the beach alone or join our half day excursion The “ Other Malta”.
Overnight stay in Malta
This is a very special tour, combining Malta’s most important aristocratic palace with 400 year old cellars where Malta’s premium wines can mature. Palazzo Parisio has been rightly described as “a miniature Versailles”. Its intricate interiors contain fine frescoes, magnificent marble works, mirrored walls, rare paintings and extravagant workmanship. The beautiful landscaped gardens, acclaimed as among the most beautiful in Europe, reflect the splendor of this gracious residence. 7Friday: Taormina area – Ferry to Sicily
In the early morning group transfer to the port of Valletta and departure by ferry to Pozzallo. Group transfer to the hotel in Taormina area. This day you are free to relax and explore the city or take a swim on the beach alone or you can book a boat trip departing from the port of Giardini Naxos, which you will reach on your own.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Taormina area.
Rech the port of Giardini Naxos on your own and board on the boat.
In this tour you will discover the natural beauty of the coast Giardini Naxos – Taormina, in a comfortable characteristic boat (max. 12 people), to explore the Ionian coast. From here you will have a fantastic view of Etna and the most spectacular places of its area. Along the way you will
discover some caves, including the famous “Blue Grotto”, rock formations and the beautiful Nature Reserve of “Isola Bella”. The captain will drop anchor in a particular place in the turquoise sea water. There is the possibility to swim or enjoy nature. Return to the Port of Giardini Naxos.

8Saturday: Tour overs after breakfast
Today your trip comes to an end after breakfast. Check out at 10:00. Say goodbye to your fellow travellers and head back to Catania airport, or if you booked additional accommodation, you can enjoy an extended stay.
Rooms must be left before 10:00 am.
You can bring your baggage with you or you can leave it in the storage room of your hotel for free. On request and at extra charge, it is possible to keep the room until late afternoon.
