Day 1: ARRIVAL
Arrive at hotel. On this day there are no planned activities. Free time to discover the city on your own.
Day 2: CINQUE TERRE
Breakfast in hotel. Whole day dedicated to the visit of the Cinque Terre. After reaching the La Spezia railway station, departure by train to Riomaggiore – which you will reach in only 7 minutes – visit of the town and continuation by train towards Manarola. Visit of the characteristic village. Continuing your journey by train you will reach Vernazza, the most picturesque of the five towns. If you are good walkers, we advise you to continue to Monterosso following path no. 2: It takes about 2 hours, but it's really a beautiful experience. Walking up and down, you will have a wonderful view of this typical Mediterranean background. Ovenight in hotel.
Day 3: PORTOVENERE & PALMARIA ISLAND
Breakfast in hotel. We recommend spending your day in trekking (optional). Once you reach Portovenere, use the boat service to reach Palmaria Island, the largest of the three islands in the Gulf of Poets. Landing at the Terrizzo wharf, from which the tour of the island begins. It is an easy and very scenic trail, spectacular at times; there are fortifications from the last century and the ancient marble quarries of the "portoro"; the real walking time of the path is quite short - about 2 hours -, 7 km in total. In the evening, return to the hotel, dinner in a local restaurant and overnight.
Day 4: LERICI & GULF OF POETS
Breakfast in hotel. You can spend the day visiting the town of Lerici on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Poets. Lerici was the stronghold of the Maritime Republic of Pisa and from that period it retains the castle and the village. We also recommend a visit to the village of Tellaro, a typical example of Ligurian seaside villages, perched on the sea. In the afternoon wine tasting in a local cellar. Return to the hotel, overnight.
Day 5: RAPALLO & PORTOVENERE
Breakfast in hotel. After breakfast departure towards Rapallo. On the way, we recommend a stop at the ancient village of Portovenere, once a stronghold of the Maritime Republic of Genoa. We recommend a visit to the 12th century castle, the small church of San Pietro - jutting out over the sea in front of the luxuriant island of Palmaria, the 11th century parish church of San Lorenzo and the "alleyways": small alleys, corridors made lively and colorful by the many local craft shops and typical products, which make up the town itself. Arrival at the hotel, overnight.
Day 6: PORTOFINO
After breakfast in hotel, head to Santa Magherita Ligure to take the ferry to Portofino, one of the trendiest seaside villages on the Ligurian Riviera. Relaxation is the order of the day: we highly recommend shopping in the city's boutiques before enjoying a panoramic drink at sunset. After spending the day exploring Portofino, return to Santa Margherita Ligure by boat. Overnight.
Day 7: BAY OF SILENCE & GULG OF TIGULLIO
Breakfast at the hotel. We advise you to visit the village of Sestri Levante and its beautiful bay: the Bay of Silence. You can continue the day walking towards the promontory of Punta Manara, triangular in shape in the Gulf of Tigullio, which extends between the Ligurian towns of Sestri Levante and Riva Trigoso. In the evening, dinner in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel, overnight.
Day 8: DEPARTURE DAY
(*) It could happen and in case of problems the hotels indicated may be replaced with others of the same category located in the same towns or up to 30 km distance where will be possible to realize the program. In case of hotels full booked we reserve to invert the tour and/or confirm the booking in a middle-class hotel with a reduction of 5 euro per person per day. The name of the hotel will be sent to you 14 days before the arrival.
